Personal Stories

Personal Stories

These stories are the personal experiences of family members who have cared for someone with schizophrenia, schizoaffective disorder or a related psychotic disorder. They provide first-hand insight into the impact, which is often devastating and tiring, associated with caring for someone who is suffering from psychosis.

Are you interested in sharing your story? You can do so either completely anonymously or with your first name and your relation to the affected one (e.g. parent, sibling, etc). Sharing your experience can be an opportunity to release stressful feelings that have been harbored, and it will help others by providing a sense of shared experience.

The more we share our stories, the more it will help break down the stigma and quietness surrounding psychotic illnesses.
